HENRY CO., Va. -

Golfers in Henry County spent the morning on the course to help animals.

The Martinsville Henry County SPCA held its first Putts for Mutts golf tournament at the Chatmoss Country Club.

Businesses and animal lovers made up 21 four person teams.

"All the proceeds from today's event are going to obviously go to benefit the programs of the SPCA. That's our spay and neuter program, our rescues program, our adoption program to help support our facility," said Melissa White, with the Martinsville, Henry County SPCA.

The first four people who made a hole in one got a chance to win one of two cars, an Apple computer gift package, $5,000 or a set of golf clubs.
