On Saturday, August 2nd, Habitat for Humanity helped another family in our area with the renovation and the purchase of a home.

The organization was able to lend a hand with the help of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Since 2005, Thrivent has donated over 169 million dollars to Habitat for Humanity International.

The Mpoye family will receive the house. The family of seven arrived in the United States from the Congo and Tanzania 4 years ago.

"It means so much, in particular for this family," Karen Mason, of Habitats For Humanity tells us,"They have just traveled across the world to come her to Roanoke to settle in and the family has just been long wanting a place for their children to put roots in."
