County leaders are looking for an emergency services coordinator after the person in the job left in May after just one year in the position.

At that time emergency volunteers told WDBJ7 they didn't like some of the things Carr Boyd tried to do.

Now county leaders are talking with captains and chiefs to come up with an updated job description.

“Clearly there was some angst over this position, but when you look at this system as a whole - we have 34 field personnel, that's a lot for a community our size, you clearly need someone in charge of that,” Botetourt County Administrator Kathleen Guzi said.

Botetourt County also has more than 125 emergency volunteers.

The county is also looking for an economic development manager, which would be a new position.

Guzi says it shows the county is focusing on bringing jobs and business to the county.
