ROANOKE, Va. -

Voice of the Blue Ridge is a non-profit organization that provides services for those that are blind and focuses on enriching the lives of those with vision impairments.

Now you can help out too through "Dial In News" program.

Volunteers can call into the system from the comfort of their own home, office, or school using their touch tone phone, and read their assigned part of the newspaper or other item they are recording.

All that is required is the desire and ability to help those who, for whatever reason, have lost access to the printed word.

You'll also need access to a touch tone phone and a newspaper.

This is also a great outreach project for church groups or college students needing community service work to meet requirements.

To be a volunteer with VOBR, call (540) 985-8900.
