The field of candidates who hope to follow Onzlee Ware in the Virginia General Assembly is growing.

On Saturday, two more Democrats, Patricia White-Boyd and Keith Wheaton, announced they're seeking the 11th District seat in the House of Delegates.

Ware announced Thursday that he is stepping down to spend more time with his ailing mother.

The announcement set off a scramble among potential candidates.  Democrats Court Rosen and Sam Rasoul have already announced plans to run.

Both Jeff Artis and David Trinkle have also expressed strong interest.  Roanoke Sheriff Octavia Johnson is also running.  So far she is the only Republican who has entered the race.
