If you saw people out smiling today, it wasn't just because of the weather.
Today was also International Happiness Day, according to the United Nations.
One Roanoke group was in Tanglewood Mall today asking people to write down how they can make people happy and post it on a wall.
They received a variety of responses.
"When you smile it brings sunshine to everyones life, and right now we need some sunshine. And today is the first day of spring, and it just makes everyone feel great," said Carolyn Johnson.
"I will share happiness by driving home with no road rage and not getting those who practice road rage," said Barbara Shiley, who was in Roanoke from Lewisburg, West Virginia.
