Enjoy your Tuesday, and stay safe in this rainy weather!

Just like me, I'm sure you've been monitoring this week's events in Boston. It's just always amazing to me that with all of the surveillance and smart phone technology, that anyone would dare to commit such brazen, violent crimes. I suppose some people don't care if they get caught.
As you know, one of the Boston marathon suspects is dead, the other is still at large. The city is on lockdown and people there are on edge. My thoughts and prayers go out to each and every one one of them. I hope that once the authorities do capture the individual responsible, that we can get some answers as to why he took part in all of this. We probably still won't be able to come anywhere close to understanding. Along with the dozens and dozens of victims, I keep thinking of that little eight year old boy who died. He had such a promising life ahead of him...such a tragedy.
As you've heard, WDBJ 7 is doing extensive, live coverage of tomorrow's Blue Ridge Marathon here in Roanoke. I'm sure those runners will be thinking of the victims in Boston, and will run in their honor. Hope you will come out and support these athletes and cheer them on. We can't let fear stop us from celebrating the spirit of competition and the American spirit.

Hello! Spring break is next week for my son, Chris, along with all of the other students in Roanoke County. I am also taking next week off, and looking forward to doing some fun things with the kids! We're kicking it off this afternoon with an Easter egg hunt at my daugher's pre-school and another one here at the station for employees' children. I gave up desserts for Lent, and am craving peanut butter eggs big time!
Hope you have a wonderful Easter!
