ROANOKE CO., Va. -

A family of seven has been displaced from their Roanoke County home after a kitchen fire Friday.

The fire took place around 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 3600 block of Hyde Park Drive.

When fire crews arrived, they found flames coming from the kitchen. Cave Spring and Back Creek fire crews had the fire under control within about 15 minutes.

Fire damage was contained to the kitchen, but the main floor of the home suffered smoke and heat damage.

No injuries were reported.

The Roanoke Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will assist the family.
