SALEM, Va. -

LewisGale Regional Health System has named a new president.  Jon Bartlett will become President and CEO of LewisGale Regional Health System at the end of the month.

Bartlett's experience includes serving as  president of Abrazo Health Care, a six -hospital network,  based in Phoenix, Arizona in  2011.   Prior to that he was chief executive officer at Arrowhead Hospital, a 220 bed facility in Glendale, Arizona for ten years, according to a LewisGale Regional Health System press release.

Bartlett earned both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Bartlett said he looks forward to playing an important role in not just leading the LewisGale health care system, but also in becoming an integral part of the community.

Bartlett replaces Victor Giovanetti, who left LewisGale earlier this year.

Salem, VA, October, 2013 – Jon Bartlett has been named Market President of LewisGale Regional Health System (LGRHS) and CEO of LewisGale Medical Center, effective October 31.

“Jon has outstanding credentials as a hospital administrator and a health system leader,” said Margaret Lewis and Denise P. King in a joint statement. “His experience translates perfectly to LewisGale and will allow us to continue our work in providing high-value, high-quality healthcare during a time of great change in the industry.” Lewis is President of HCA’s Richmond, VA.-based Capital Division and Senior Executive of HCA Virginia Health System. King is Chairman of LewisGale Medical Center’s board of trustees.

Bartlett joins LGRHS after serving as president of Abrazo Health Care in Phoenix, Arizona, from 2011 to 2011. Abrazo is a six-hospital, 1,029-bed network that is part of Vanguard Health Systems. Prior to that, he was chief executive officer of Arrowhead Hospital, a 220-bed facility in Glendale, Arizona, from 2001-2011. He also has experience working in three HCA facilities: as chief operating officer at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado; as chief executive and chief financial officer at Columbine Psychiatric Center, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and as controller at Aurora Regional Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.
