ROANOKE, Va. -

Some area government and business leaders spent the morning learning how to better use a very popular gadget.

The City of Roanoke, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance and Valley Bank held a workshop for people who want to use Apple's iPad to strengthen their business.

People taking part ranged from artists to piano teachers to Roanoke's Commonwealth's Attorney.

Business leaders say you have to keep up with the times to stay ahead, and that's what this course is all about.

"People walk away with something most certainly. If they've come for the first time and they still don't feel good about it they sign up for the next class," Lisa Soltis with Roanoke City said.

City leaders say they do these classes every quarter and there are typically wait lists to be able to take them.
