ROANOKE, Va. -

Some firefighters showed their support for a brave young boy from Ronaoke today.

Four-year-old Tyler Shannon's dealing with a form of eye cancer.  He got his head shaved last week after losing some of his hair to chemotherapy.

His dad's a member of Roanoke Fire/EMS squad, and firefighters from all over the Roanoke Valley made their way to Fire Station 6 to have their heads shaved.

For Tyler and his family, the support has been overwhelming.

Jenn Shannon, Tyler's mother, says, "It's extremely humbling the support that we've had, no only from the firefighters here in the area but from across the nation."

Shannon adds that once Tyler saw how many people came out to shave their heads in support of him, he felt better about having to shave his own.
