ROANOKE CO., Va. -

If you don't wear your seat belt, it can cost you in more than one way.

Local law enforcement agencies say buckle up, or pay the price.

The Click It or Ticket campaign is designed to raise seat belt usage, and save people from death and serious vehicle-related injuries.

Officers say of all traffic deaths in Virginia, 310 were from not wearing seat belts.

“A person who is not restrained that is involved in automobile crash is far more likely to be injured or even killed than somebody who is restrained,” said Roanoke County Police Chief Howard Hall.

Fines start at $25.
