TROUTVILLE, Va. -

A local restaurant can add "education" to its menu.

The Pomegranate Restaurant in Troutville hosted a discussion Wednesday about "Common Sense Eating" and "Community Grown Food".

People gathered to meet and learn with Deann Bishop. She's an Acupuncturist and Chinese Herb Specialist.

They also touched on how to know your local farmer and their food.

These meetings are free and meant to empower and educate community connections.

It happens once a month from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the restaurant.
