ROANOKE, Va. -

Renovations to downtown Roanoke's Market Square are moving right along.

The $1.1 million dollar project is expected to finish a month from now.

Right now, crews are doing underground work, laying the rest of the bricks down on one side, and beginning to plant trees.

The new overhangs where farmers and vendors will sell goods are also going up.

The city says there will be an official ribbon cutting on April 24.
