MARTINSVILLE, Va. -

A man was arrested Tuesday on breaking and entering charges after he reportedly broke into a Martinsville store.

Bobby Davis, 39, of Martinsville was arrested and faces charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny and petit larceny.

According to a news release, officers responded to Market Square Market at the corner of Market Street and Lester around 1:00 a.m. Monday after an alarm was set off.

When they arrived, they found the front door glass broken out and it looked like some items may have been taken from the store.

Officers reviewed surveillance video and discovered that a man had thrown a large cinder block through the front door, then entered the store and stole a few items that he could carry out.

Davis is being held in the Martinsville City Jail. There is still an active investigation.
