A Martinsville man is dead after a head-on collision in Henry County. It happened last night along Route 174 near Route 220 last night.
State Troopers tell Your Hometown News Leader that a Ford Explorer crossed the center line and hit a Nissan X-terra head on.
The driver of the Xterra died at the scene. He's been identified as Roy Meeks.
Terry Yates was the driver of the Explorer who hit Meeks. He's been flown to a North Carolina hospital for his injuries.
Troopers say Yates wasn't wearing a seat belt and it's not clear if the man who died was wearing his.

The Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal crash that occurred yesterday evening around 6:30 p.m. on Route 174, one tenth mile east of Route 220 business in Henry County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1994 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Route 174 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2001 Nissan Xterra head-on.
The driver of the Nissan, Roy Christopher Meeks, age 44, of Martinsville, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown at this time if Meeks was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Explorer, Terry Yates, age 39, of Martinsville, was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in North Carolina for injuries that he sustained in the crash.
Yates was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and he also was ejected from his vehicle as a result of the impact.
