Jon Meeks has been named Brookville High School’s head football coach.

Meeks takes over for Marshall Schmitt, who led the Bees in 2013 after Jeff Woody left the program following the 2012 season.

Meeks coached Louisa County for the past three seasons after nine years as an assistant. Meeks is a Heritage High School (1998) and Hampden-Sydney (2002) graduate.

“We welcome Coach Meeks and his family back to the area and look forward to his leadership in continuing the tradition of excellence in the Brookville High School football program,” principal Tom Cole wrote in a news release.

The Bees won back-to-back AA state championships in 2011 and 2012 under Woody. Brookville’s season ended in the state playoffs with a 55-14 loss to eventual state champion Northside.
