Race fans were given an incentive to give blood Monday.
The American Red Cross' mobile blood unit parked in the infield of Martinsville Speedway taking blood donations for its blood bank.
Everyone rolling up their sleeves to give blood got a free ticket to the Martinsville Speedway Pole Qualifying Day in October.
That's two days before the Sprint Cup Series race.
"There's always a need for blood. We're able to provide that through good donors that come in. Each person that donates, we're able to use that pint of blood to save up to three people's lives," said Chris Rowland with the American Red Cross.
The blood drive lasted only one day, but the American Red Cross takes blood donations at any time.
