Doctors are making strides all the time in the treatment of children with autism.
On Saturday, November 9, a group of experts on the disorder are meeting for a conference in Roanoke.
The "Learn Connect Hope Thrive" conference is for parents of children with autism, as well as for professionals who work with children with the disorder.
Dr Brice Jackson with Connections Achievement and Therapy Center says there will be an impressive panel of speakers at the conference.
Among them will be Dr. Robert Melillo, author of "Disconnected Kids, Reconnected Kids and Autism: The Scientific Truth About Preventing, Diagnosing and Treating Autism Spectrum Disorders-And What Parents Can Do Now."
Proceeds from the conference will benefit Children's Autism Hope Project.
The conference is happening November 9 at Holiday Inn Tanglewood in Roanoke from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
