DANVILLE, Va. -

A new space for fitness in Danville is weeks away from opening. Right now you can get a sneak peek.

Every day this week staff at the new YMCA are giving tours of the new building from 4 to 6 on Riverside Drive.

Crews are putting finishing touches on the building this week.

The 15 million dollar project is set to open in September and is accepting new members on the 15th.

This is larger than the current building with all new fitness machines, a bigger pool, and more space for community events.

"Our new facility, it's just giving us a central hub where we can really impact the community with a new building, new technology, we're able to expand programs, expand ways we can reach the Danville community," said Dustin Whittle, the marketing and membership director for the Danville Y.

The Y is waiving all joiners fees for new members who sign up this month.
