WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. -

The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia is rich with history, and today, it celebrated another milestone.

The resort's "Old White Golf Course" is 100 years old.

On hand for the festivities, the newest Masters champion, Bubba Watson.

Watson and Greenbrier Resort owner Jim Justice took a swing as balloons were released on the fairway.

The golfer says the course is special and he was honored to be apart of the celebration, much to the surprise of Justice.

"Me and my wife, we just acted like we were going home and so he didn't know I was going to show up today, so I just showed up." "One hundred years of a golf course being open, especially something like this, The Greenbrier, America's resort. It's a honor and privilege to be here," Watson said.

The Old White Golf course is the resort's first 18-hole course.

It opened in 1914.
