LYNCHBURG, Va. -

Freshman aren't the only new faces at Randolph College this year.

Bradley Bateman is the school's new president.  Wednesday he welcomed students back to campus, by helping them move into the dorms.

Bateman started his tenure as Randolph's 10th president in July, after serving as a provost at a school in Ohio.

"I actually have old friends who are bringing children here for the first time, but most of these families are ones I've never had the privilege to meet before,' said Bateman.  "It's really wonderful."

220 freshman are enrolled at Randolph this year.  That's the largest first-year class since 1985, when the school was still known as Randolph-Macon Women's College.
