ROANOKE, Va. -

Carilion Clinic is the new owner of a vending machine aimed at getting patients and employees to eat healthier.

The hospital is the first health care provider in Virginia to have the touch screen machine.

All you have to do is swipe your finger across the screen to see your snack options. You can then click on another button and it brings up all the nutritional information for the item you choose.

Hospital staff says they've received a lot of positive feedback about the new machine.

"They can see we're making an effort,” said Carilion Dining and Nutrition Services Director Brandon Williams. “They can see we're really doing things to educate people more, just to give them options. If someone wants to find something healthy they can."

The new vending machine allows you to use a credit card to purchase your snacks as well.
