RICHMOND, Va. -

The nominees for Virginia's top 10 endangered artifacts have been released. Four of them are in our area.
They include a water works map of Roanoke from 1888.

In Christiansburg, a Rice D. Montague account book from the 1880's.

At the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, a 299th Combat Engineer Battalion Flag flown at the assault on Utah beach in 1944.

More recently, a Sky Castles Sculpture by Artist Dorothy Gillespie in Radford.

The Virginia Association of Museums is hosting the competition.

You can vote for your favorite artifact beginning August 1st.

And new this year, you can donate money to help with its preservation.
