One person is dead after a motorcycle accident in Nelson County this weekend.

It happened Saturday morning at the intersection of Routes 29 and 56.

According to a spokeswoman with Virginia State Police, Michael Murphy was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Route 29 when Peggy Arnold pulled her 2010 Honda Civic into the crossover to make a left turn onto Route 56.

Arnold pulled across the southbound lanes and into the path of Murphy, causing the two vehicles to collide.

Murphy, 47, of Annapolis, Md., died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

Arnold, 66, of Huntington, Md., was not injured in the crash.

She is charged with reckless driving.

The crash remains under investigation.
