SALEM, Va. -

The Salem Red Sox are preparing for their first home game of the 2014 season at the Salem Memorial Ballpark Stadium on Tuesday, April 8th.

General Manager Ryan Shelton says they have giveaways planned for the first 5,000 fans, a fireworks show after the game, and a special POW MIA chair of honor reveal before the game.

Salem will try to tie in the Carolina League record for 16 consecutive wins. Dating back to last season, the Red Sox have won 15 straight games. Salem won 11 straight en route to the 2013 Carolina League championship, and opened this season with four straight wins.
