UPDATE: Crews hope to have Orange Ave. in Roanoke back open by 5:30 p.m. after water main break
Crews hope to have the westbound lane of Orange Avenue that is blocked in downtown Roanoke back open by 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Crews are repairing the pavement after a water main broke Friday morning.
It happened in front of the Road House Bar and Grill, between 11th and 12th Street, near the Roanoke Civic Center.
Water service was restored to around five businesses at 1:30 p.m.
One lane of Orange Avenue (Route 460) westbound is closed in Roanoke because of a water main break.
The break is in front of the Road House Bar and Grill, between 11th and 12th street, headed toward the Roanoke Civic Center.
Crews from the Western Virginia Water Authority are working to isolate the line. Bob Benninger, Director of Water Operations for the Western Virginia Water Authority, says a 12-inch line broke.
