LYNCHBURG, Va. -

Building officials are trying to decide whether a historic home in Lynchburg can be saved.

Part of the house, which is located on Harrison Street, collapsed just before last week's snow storm.

Investigators believe water had been leaking into the walls.  Mortar that was holding the house together simply gave way.

The home, which was built in 1854, was still occupied and used as a duplex.

No one was injured in the collapse.  A family that was living in the house has been temporarily moved to a hotel.
