BOTETOURT CO., Va. -

PepsiCo. will stop production work at its plant in the Hollins area.

According to the company, most of the 150 employees will remain at the facility. Around 30 jobs are affected by the production operations closure.

PepsiCo. says beverages will not be produced at the Hollins facility anymore.

The employees who will remain at the facility work in warehousing and sales positions.

Here is a statement from the company:

“We plan to close down production operations at our Roanoke beverage facility effective immediately. Associated work will move to other facilities within our system. This difficult decision was made with careful consideration and we’re committed to providing support to affected employees by offering outplacement services. A majority of employees will remain at the Roanoke facility. PepsiCo continues to be dedicated to serving our customers and consumers in the area, and this change allows us to improve efficiency, fund future investments and be more competitive.”
