ROANOKE, Va. -

The medical examiner has released the name of the Roanoke woman who died in a fire Monday.

Rhonda McKinney was found dead inside of a home in the 3300 block of Ridgerun Drive. She was 46.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, but it's still being investigated by the Roanoke Fire Marshal's Office.

One person was killed in a fire Monday afternoon in Roanoke.

The fire was reported at 3:25 p.m. at a home in the 3300 block of Ridgerun Drive. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The victim's name has not been released.

Three people were inside the home at the time of the fire. Two people escaped. One of the people who escaped the fire ran to a neighbor's house to call 911.

Two firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries while putting the fire out.

Two cats and a bird were also killed in the fire, and a dog is missing.

Ridgerun Drive is off Orange Avenue in Northeast Roanoke, near Gus Nicks Boulevard and King Street.
