Owner says man entered Moneta store, stole several pocket knives
A store owner reported to Bedford County Sheriff's Office that a man stole several pocket knives from his store Friday morning.
Bob Terry, owner of Terry's Country Store, called the Bedford County Sheriff's Office Friday at 10:43 a.m. to report the incident.
According to a news release, Terry advised police that a man entered his store and asked to see the pocket knives. Terry says he took the knives out of the case, then the man left the store, only to return again later when he grabbed several knives and left the store with them.
Terry told police that the man got into a dark colored 90s model Jeep Cherokee that was driven by a woman.
In a separate incident, Terry, 83, was beaten and robbed at his store in October of 2011.
Jason Shell of Roanoke was found guilty of three charges related to robbing and assaulting Terry in October 2011, and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Police are searching for the suspect who is accused of stealing the pocket knives. Anyone with information on the crime should call the Bedford County Sheriff's Office at 540-568-7827.
