Pulaski County product and former Hokie Todd Grantham is leaving his post as defensive coordinator at Georgia to assume the same role at Louisville under new Cardinals head coach Bobby Petrino.
Grantham previously coached in the NFL with Dallas, Cleveland, Houston and Indianapolis and was a college coach at Michigan State under Nick Saban and at Virginia Tech working for Coach Beamer.
He was the Georgia defensive coordinator for the past four seasons under Mark Richt, helping the Dogs to back-to-back SEC title games, but the last two years he felt the wrath of expectations from Bulldogs fans.
Grantham receives a five-year deal at Louisville worth $1 million per season.
Grantham is a Pulaski County native. He played at Virginia Tech and graduated in 1989.
