ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. -

School kids are only about a month away from summer vacation, and that leaves many parents wondering how to fill their kid's time.

There are dozens of camps to choose from, but only one that focuses solely on building character.

Registration is now open for Roanoke County Fire and Rescue's 10th annual Character Academy .

Rising 6th through 8th graders take part in hands on activities at fire stations, all while learning character building and team work skills.

The camp runs August 6 through August 8 from 9:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m. each day.

The cost is $30.00 per camper.  On June 1, the price goes up to $40.00.

July 1 is the deadline to register. Click here to get the registration form.
