A Botetourt County woman is offering a reward following the disappearance of her African Grey Parrot.
The bird vanished on July 6th, after a small fire in Evelyn Krippendorf's kitchen.
She moved her three birds from their cages to make sure they wouldn't be injured by fumes, but later that night she realized that Tamar, her talking parrot, was missing.
"She's seven years old and I've had her since she was a baby," Krippendorf told us. "I guess the hardest thing is, you know, I'm supposed to be the one taking care of her. And I somehow let her get out."
Krippendorf's home is located near Cloverdale Elementary School in Botetourt County.
She has distributed flyers in the neighborhood and placed an advertisement in the newspaper.
She's hoping someone will spot the bird nearby, and she's offering a $500 reward for information leading to the bird's safe return.
