LYNCHBURG, Va. -

Jury selection began Monday for a Lynchburg murder trial.

Scott Miles is accused of killing his mother-in-law, Lynda Slocum, in December of 2012.

According to court documents, investigators found Slocum dead in her home on Ravenwood Drive with a blanket over her head and a magazine rack on her chest.  She was 86.

As potential jurors were interviewed Monday morning, a prosecutor told them Miles killed Slocum by "snapping her neck."

Miles' trial is expected to last several days.
