HENRY COUNTY, Va. -

It was more than the spring weather that had bicyclists out in Henry County Saturday afternoon.

The Henry County Bike Club held its first "Ride for Awareness" today at Jack Dalton Park.

The 9-mile ride is to promote awareness of pedestrians, runners and cyclists on the road.

Local law enforcement escorted the ride.

The bike club wants this to be annual event. Organizers say the ride is also an opportunity to show support for those who've been injured on the road in the past.
