ROANOKE, Va. -

Some bright changes are coming to one of Roanoke's busiest parks.

Readying for the spring, summer and fall rec leagues, the city is replacing many of the lights at River's Edge.

The city is spending $437,000 to replace the old lights, which were 30 years old.

Roanoke City Spokesman Timothy Martin says the new lights are more energy efficient.  Martin also said these lights are better at focusing light and not dispersing it to where it can bother people who live nearby.
