ROANOKE, Va. -

Roanoke City Council will soon consider adopting a Storm Water Utility.

According to a news release, the city is now publishing Impervious Surface delineation information for non-residential properties within the city.

This information is meant to help citizens to better understand how their property contributes runoff to our rivers and streams, and to provide property owners with a tool to estimate fees for specific properties.

For a more detailed explanation and a link to the city’s GIS, there is a link titled “Stormwater Utility Impervious Surface information” on the city’s homepage at http://www.roanokeva.gov under “Read About”.

Residential properties will be posted the first week in October.
