Roanoke County is talking stormwater as well.
Later this week, the county will hold another meeting to consider how to deal with new state and federal stormwater run-off regulations.
It's the 3rd in a series of seven meetings on the issue.
This one is set for Thursday at the Green Ridge Recreation Center.
Roanoke City Council will hold a public hearing tonight at at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber for the proposed Stormwater Utility Ordinance.
The stormwater utility fee rates and their implementation schedule have not been set.
City staff recommends a fee of $0.90 per 500 square feet of impervious surface.
If adopted at the recommended rate, the stormwater fee will be among the lowest in the Commonwealth of Virginia and could be implemented with a phased schedule over two to three years.
A draft of the proposed City of Roanoke Stormwater Utility Ordinance is posted on www.roanokeva.gov.
