ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. -

Kids are back in school, and it's easy to get caught up in all the "Have to's" of the busy fall season.
It's also important for families to set aside some down time for FUN and recreation.

Registration is now open for Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism's fall programs.

It's offering what it calls the 2014 Fall Bucket List, which  encourages families to get out together and enjoy things like pumpkin picking, having a bonfire, going camping, go on a hayride, and something as simple as just laughing more.

Two of the biggest events happening this fall are the Green Hill Highland Games on September 27,  and the second annual Roanoke Zombie 5K Run on October 4.

Proceeds from the Zombie Run will benefit the Special Olympics of Virginia. Registration is $35 in advance for individual runners, or $25 in advance for zombies. Team and gate pricing also available.
