ROANOKE, Va. -

A fire caused an estimated $90,000 in damage to a Roanoke home on Sunday night.

The fire started around 8:55 p.m. in the 4000 block of Kentucky Avenue.

All four people inside the home escaped safely. They are being helped by the American Red Cross. Four pets were also displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire was unattended cooking, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

The fire was contained to the kitchen, but the home sustained smoke and water damage throughout the house.
