On Saturday, July 12th, the Roanoke Parks and Arts Program brought visual and performing arts together.

Golden Park hosted the free event.

Musical performances included the Roanoke Chamber Brass, The Wright Kids, and Silly Bus.

Artists Gwyn Hall and Katherine Devine were on-hand to help kids and adults express themselves through facepainting.

With a focus on community settings, those involved say that these events meld the outdoors with the arts, engage residents in art, and promote neighborhoods' diverse cultural and historic resources.

More Parks and Arts events are scheduled later this summer and offer free admission.
