No matter where you turned in Roanoke there was snow.

“Out here trying to shovel snow trying to get out,“ Roanoke resident Preston Evans said.

Evans and his 8-year-old son live off of Cove Road. Though their street is plowed, their front yard is a different story. They’re working together to get the job done.

Devin Hoback is in south Roanoke making progress on the walkway where he lives. He say today's weather couldn't have been better.

“It's actually pretty hot. I didn't expect to be that hot with all that snow,” said Hoback.

In Lansdowne Park, neighbors were helping neighbors. The effort of using a broom paid off for Jami Wilkerson, along with her neighbors, who helped free another neighbor's car.

Changing directions, we headed over to the intersection of Hidden Oak and Lee Hi Roads, where one plow got stuck and needed the assistance of another.

In south Roanoke, kids turned a street into a sledding park.

"They don't have a reason to sit home. They are just enjoying it. And this has really been the first snow fall we've had this year," Roanoke Resident Scott Michie said.
