School's out for summer, but that doesn't mean there are no more books.

Libraries in our area are offering fun summer reading programs to encourage students to keep keep reading.

You'll find six weeks of fun library programs that include music, story times, games, movies and crafts.

This year's theme is "Dig Into Reading."

Studies show that school-age children who read during summer vacation maintain or improve their reading skills.

The Summer Reading Program features a reading log, so kids can keep track of what they've read. There are also lots of reading incentives.

You can register for reading programs at any library in the Roanoke Valley.
