Roanoke woman will "March on Washington" again
Roanoke woman will be one of dozens from this area participating in the historical march on Washington
In 1963, a bright eyed 30-something from Roanoke watched first-hand as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. deliver his powerful "I Have a Dream Speech". Dr. Pernella Chubb- Wilson will return to Washington DC on Wednesday for the 50th anniversary, still fighting for King's vision of equality and justice.
"That's one of the things I want to see more here of is justice in the courtroom and when I come back that will be one of my goals because there are a couple of cases that need to be reviewed here for justice," says Chubb-Wilson.
As thousands march for the anniversary, a group from Roanoke will also be in the crowd. And if the saying holds true, history just might possibly repeat itself.
