ROANOKE, Va. -

A man suspected of robbing two businesses in Roanoke has been arrested.

Samuel Burton, 18, of Roanoke is charged with attempted robbery and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

On Tuesday, a Roanoke detective sergeant saw a man walking that matched the description of a suspect involved in an attempted robbery at Walgreens on Monday.

The detective found that Burton was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants in Danville.

Burton was taken into custody. Officers searched his home and found evidence that linked him to the attempted robbery at Walgreens.

When Burton was questioned, he admitted to robbing the Second Alarm Sports Bar on August 6, as well.

Police say the robbery at the Second Alarm Sports Bar is still under investigation and charges are pending.

Burton was taken to the Roanoke City Jail.
