Picketers in downtown Roanoke are protesting against the post office consolidation on Wednesday.

The Roanoke Mail Distribution Facility is set to consolidate into Greensboro next spring.

That announcement earlier this month is still unsettling for many postal workers.

As of now, the consolidation begins next year on April 18.

All first class envelopes and flat rate boxes will be sorted in North Carolina. With the consolidation, delivery sometimes takes an extra one to two days.
