ROANOKE, Va. -

The sale of the Huff Lane School site in the city of Roanoke will help fund an expansion at Round Hill Elementary. Tuesday, Roanoke City Council appropriated $1.7 million for the project.

Roanoke Mayor David Bowers and council member Anita Price presented a ceremonial check to School Superintendent Rita Bishop, Round Hill Principal Cory Hawks and 4th grader Christopher Johnson.

The Round Hill expansion project includes a new cafeteria, kitchen and gymnasium, and 26 additional classrooms.
