LYNCHBURG, Va. -

Christians need to stand up and be heard. That's the message former Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin brought to Liberty University students Wednesday morning.

Palin is touring the country promoting her book Good Tidings and Great Joy.

She says freedom of religion includes the freedom to express the religious spirit of the season.

“The message of Christmas is a message of real hope. Not the hopey, changey, dopey stuff you hear coming out of Washington,” Palin said.
After the event, Palin signed copies of her book.

She's scheduled to sign more copies Saturday morning at the Valley View Mall Barnes and Noble in Roanoke.
