Saturday's 76-cent deal for Krispy Kreme doughnuts will only be honored at Krispy Kreme stores.

According to a spokeswoman, people in the Roanoke area will have to find the nearest Krispy Kreme. The company closed its Roanoke location on Melrose Avenue following a May fire at the store.

Krispy Kreme PR and Media Manager Lafeea Watson tells WDBJ7 that positive things are going on and residents in Roanoke can expect an announcement in the next few weeks or months regarding a new location for the store.

"We are on the ground and looking for property and we can promise that we will construct a brand new hot factory in Roanoke as quickly as we can," she said.

While most Roanoke residents won't be able to enjoy the 76th birthday deal, Watson says Krispy Kreme is planning a huge celebration when the new factory opens.

To celebrate its 76th birthday, Krispy Kreme says that if you buy a dozen donuts at regular price, you can get a second dozen for seventy-six cents on Saturday. But that deal will only be honored at Krispy Kreme stores.
